The wings on Thursday were amazing!! So we went back on the weekend and had ribs and brisket combos. Best BBQ around!!!!!
Their smoked food was excellent, and Ray, the bartender, made some awesome cocktails. 👍
We love coming here. It’s such a great place with great food but more importantly they have the best server. Our server is always Hailea and she is the best. She is constantly making sure that everything is OK, she is always refilling your drinks, and she has the absolute sweetest personality. We only wanna come when she is there!!!! Thank you Hailea for always making our visits awesome!!
This is my favorite local restaurant! Our server Hailea was so sweet and attentive. She was so kind throughout our visit. We’ve had heard a few times now and every time we go she is the best. I hope we always get her!
If you’re looking for the best wings in Atlantic County, this is the place. The smoked wings are absolutely incredible, and the sauces take them to another level. Do yourself a favor and try the Hot Honey Garlic sauce — it may actually change your life. What really makes this place special, though, is the atmosphere. The staff is genuinely friendly, the regulars are welcoming, and don’t be surprised if a casual night out turns into making a few real friends. One thing to know: don’t expect rushed fast-food service. They’re busy because they’re good, and they take the time to do things right. The food is worth the wait every single time. Bottom line: the food is great, the staff is great, and you just might leave with a new friend.

A sneaky gem I feel like everyone should give a chance. Got the brisket cheesesteak and it was unreal. If I could rate it out of 10 I’d give it a 100. Will definitely be coming back!

One of my favorite spots. Killer food, easy to find, easy parking. Staff is friendly. My favorite night is Friday night karaoke, but they're great across the board. Absolutely recommend.

I ate there 2 weeks ago and the food was so good! My waitress, Angelina, was so amazing! She kept checking on us to make sure we had a good time. Would definitely recommend her to anyone!

Stopped in to try out the Taste of AC lunch menu and it did not disappoint! For $20, I got to enjoy a crock of French onion soup, the smoked BBQ chicken cheesesteak sandwich, and s'mores bread pudding. It was so delicious and so much, that I took home leftovers! Getting to try courses I wouldn't normally order made me realize how good the food is and I don't come to Freddy J's often enough. Amazing food and conveniently located. Don't pass this up!

Saw the reels on Facebook and decided to come check out Freddy J’s and was pleasantly surprised!! The bartender Maggie was great , had a creamy espresso martini 🍸 We tried the brisket eggrolls as an appetizer which were different but fabulous! We had salmon w Brussels sprouts & mashed potatoes for our meal , the salmon was cooked perfectly, the Brussels sprouts were amazing !! Will definitely be back !!

100% no BS review. Ok..where to start? Service. Service in the area has been…spotty unfortunately, BUT here it was excellent. No sooner was my drink empty than our waitress was coming around to ask for seconds. Fantastic. Some of the other establishments in the area could take some notes. Next is ambiance. We assumed it’d be crazy loud with someone’s playlist but to be honest it was great. I could hear everyone at our table. Next, food… holy crap. I’d heard a lot about the wings and we tried both the Asian and the buffalo…I def prefer the buffalo but WOW on both counts. They are smoked but crispy and saucy. Sometimes smoked means rubbery but in this case it was amazing. I will go back just for this wings. My brisket Philly was also absolutely amazing! Cheesy, bbq-y, and delicious. Then the drinks!! The jalapeno margarita was amazing. I got it with a tajin rim and loved it. We all shared bites of all that was ordered and I have to say this place is fantastic – nothing was served anything short of delicious and as a fairly picky person who has worked in the service industry I highly recommend. Very much impressed and hoping they keep it up!!!

I stopped by Freddy J’s in Mays Landing with my coworkers for happy hour last Thursday, and it ended up being a great experience all around. We went specifically for the Yuengs and wings, and they did not disappoint. We ordered the wings with their hot honey garlic sauce, which came highly recommended by one of my coworkers—and for good reason. The flavor really stood out: sweet, savory, and just the right amount of heat. They were delicious and definitely something I’d order again. One of my coworkers also ordered an espresso martini from the happy hour menu, and after trying a sip, I can confidently say it was excellent—smooth, flavorful, and surprisingly good for a happy hour cocktail. The only minor downside was that a couple of the wings were slightly pink. They weren’t raw and were still fully edible and tasty, but it’s worth mentioning. It didn’t take away much from the overall experience. The service was friendly and attentive without ever feeling rushed, which made it easy to relax and enjoy ourselves. We dined in, and the atmosphere was very clean with a small, local bar vibe. Even with bingo going on, the noise level stayed moderate and conversation was easy. Prices felt very fair for the quality, especially during happy hour. Overall, this was a solid visit, and I would definitely go back and highly recommend Freddy J’s to others looking for good wings, drinks, and a comfortable local spot.

The hot honey garlic wings are definitely a crowd favorite around here, and I'm glad your coworker steered you in the right direction. That sweet-heat combo is hard to beat. And we always love hearing good things about the espresso martinis. Our bartenders put real care into those. I do want to address the wings that appeared slightly pink. Smoked chicken can sometimes retain a pinkish hue near the bone even when fully cooked. It's a natural result of the smoking process and the reaction between the meat and wood smoke. That said, your feedback is noted and we always want our guests to feel 100% confident in what's on their plate, so we'll keep a close eye on presentation. Really glad the service, atmosphere, and pricing all hit the mark too. Bingo nights are always a good time, and it's nice to know the vibe stayed comfortable for your group. Local's spot dishing out real smoked ribs, wings and brisket. We ordered the wings, jalapeno poppers (not what they're called on the menu but they are POPPING!) and the ribs. The Young lady working the dining room was courteous, helpful but not overly so. The ribs were smoked to perfection and the wings were smoked, but not rubbery skinned, and crispy outside with juicy inside. Sauce not needed because the bark spoke for itself…same with ribs. Sauce comes on the side so you know they aren't hiding the food by overly saucing it up. Definitely returning….I wasn't impressed by the sides …baked beans were ok.. coleslaw cornbread same. The jalapenos with smoked brisket, cream cheese and wrapped in bacon….slap somebody good gawd! No pics of poppers….they like that but photos of the rest. Worth the trip, thanks for adding respect to the south Jersey BBQ scene.
This review right here. "Adding respect to the South Jersey BBQ scene" is exactly what we set out to do, so thank you for that. You nailed it on the sauce on the side. If the meat is smoked right, you shouldn't need to drown it. The bark should do the talking and I'm glad it did. That's the whole philosophy behind how we approach our BBQ. The Texas Twinkies, because you're right they aren't technically called poppers on the menu, are one of those items that catch people off guard. Smoked jalapeno, brisket, cream cheese, bacon. It's a combination that just has no business being that good. I appreciate the honesty on the sides too. That kind of feedback helps us keep pushing to make sure everything on the plate earns its spot, not just the meat. Thanks for coming in and for the detailed review. We'll see you next time.

My husband and I were running errands last night and decided to try something new. After a quick Google search, we came across Freddy J’s — about 30 minutes from home — and the menu looked too good not to check out. Eclectic, creative, and full of unique twists on classic dishes, it immediately caught our attention. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the girls behind the bar and everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere felt relaxed and inviting right away. We started with the French onion soup — and as self-proclaimed French onion soup connoisseurs, we can confidently say this was one of the best we’ve had. The smoked wings were absolutely out of this world. For our meals, my husband ordered the turkey BLT, which was absolutely delicious, and I had the chicken Caesar wrap, which was equally as good. The only small note I’d make is that the menu describes the chicken as “homemade tenders,” and the chicken in the wrap was more of a pulled style rather than crispy — but even so, it was still very flavorful and enjoyable. Overall, we were extremely impressed and will definitely be back. Freddy J’s is absolutely worth the drive. Highly recommend!

The French onion soup getting the seal of approval from self-proclaimed connoisseurs is a big deal. We put a lot into that recipe so hearing that it held up to your standards is exactly what I want to hear. On the chicken Caesar wrap, I appreciate you pointing that out. The menu description is something I'll take a look at because I want expectations to match what's on the plate. Glad it was still enjoyable, but that kind of detail matters to me. The food is always good, and bar area is always a great spot to see and talk with friends. The bartender is super friendly and makes great drinks, we love to sit at the when there is room. Sometimes waitstaff at tables can be a little slow and unfriendly but overall we enjoy it there.

I live about an hour away and worth the drive for the smoked wings! Beer selection is great and oh, want a smoked old fashioned? Great place for one! Outstanding food, drinks, and staff! I promise you that this is a hidden gem in South Jersey you MUST get to!

I recently started going here and let me tell you I am HOOKED! One of the things I love about this place is almost every night is a different and fun activity. They have trivia, bingo, karaoke, corn hole, even bar crawls. I used to travel like 30 plus minutes away, NOT ANYMORE! The customer service is amazing! They make you feel like you’re at a friends house. Nothing but laughs and joy from the time you walk in to the time you leave. The food 100/10. The “twinkies” are my all time favorite. Jalapeño poppers with brisket, wrapped in bacon, with a BBQ sauce on top OMG! The southwestern chicken Caesar wrap AMAZING! The burger soooo good! Honestly, if you have never tried this restaurant I recommend you give them a shot!

Great place and great service! I usually do door dash or uber eats from here. My husband and I decided to dine in today. I felt so bad approaching our server about a discrepancy in our bill. She was extremely patient. She got Freddy to come talk to me. He refunded me the difference without a question. His personality was phenomenal. It is rare if you see businesses like this. Besides that, the food is phenomenal. If you want a southern taste, go here. Everything is smoked and delicious. I am extremely satisfied.

My family and I, along with our two dogs, ate brunch there, and we had a blast! The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. They even accommodated our dogs by providing water bowls with ice, and they offered them burgers as well. 🤩

I had the Poke bowl. It was good. But as a vegan, it would be nice to see another vegan option or 2 on the menu. Apparently, it was music bingo night. Luckily, we were almost done when it started. The music was so loud that we decided to leave. It was difficult to have a conversation.

Celebrating a bday 1st Time @ Freddy J’s and man when i tell you its a vibe for all ages .Food was amazing decent prices btw .I happened to go on Trivia night (Tuesday) and had a blast my waiter was David he’s awesome checked on us didn’t feel rushed like some places .He even joined in on the bday celebration at the table he got some good laughs in.David and the crew at Freddy j’s on sept 16th you guys are amazing .Don't worry i’ll be back it was worth the drive .

In an area where there’s basically no BBQ, Freddy J’s is a savior. Although it doesn’t style itself as a BBQ joint, the menu is tilted towards the house-smoked meats. As far as BBQ goes, Freddy J’s is pretty solid. The smoked wings in particular are a real treat. If you’re in Atlantic County and need some decent BBQ, Freddy J’s is the place to go.

The waitress Eli was awesome. Attentive, informative she was really great. We sat outside. That area was nicely setup. We ordered the steamed clams, texas twinkies along with everything but the pit. Great bbq food, great value. I would recommend this place absolutely. The drinks were spot on. It’s a hour away for us but we will definitely make another trip. Almost forgot about Freddy’s loaded fries. Really good.

We came in on an early Tuesday afternoon, we started off with Bourbon bbq wings which had a nice smoky taste, then followed by smoked brisket cheese steak with onion rings instead of fries and Short Rib grilled cheese. The cheese steak was delicious. and very flavorful. The short rib was very tender but was lacking on the jam and cheese. The onion rings and fries were very flavorful, no additional sauce or ketchup was needed. Also our server Angelique was very pleasant, attentive and helpful when needed. We sat outside but there was available seating inside. The patrons were very friendly and personable, would definitely recommend.
