Phyllis was amazing. Friendly, helped us pick a delicious chicken sandwich and my picky son had a cheesesteak that was great! We will be back again soon.
We were there a couple of weeks ago. Was undecided about ordering the “Smoked” wings. Our server Phyllis highly recommended them. Was a great suggestion. She also recommended the burnt-end brisket sandwich, which was amazing. Phyllis was very attentive to our needs while dining. Can’t wait to go back!
The chicken sandwich was amazing, and our waitress Phyllis was amazing and she’s cool as a mug; give her a raise please, and thank you.
I went to dinner at Freddy J’s with a friend, and we had a new waitress named Mea. She was very friendly and checked on our table several times to make sure everything was ok or to ask if we needed anything else. My friend and I each had the chicken tenders, and they were excellent. Both the service and the food was great. I would give it five stars.
The food has always been fantastic. Love the shrimp and grits, and the burgers and ribs are outstanding. The smoked wings are awesome!! We love the drink specials, and the Bloody Marys are terrific!! Our bartender and server, Maggie, always takes the best care of us. The bar, restaurant, and outdoor space are super cute! Highly recommend this restaurant and bar. Great atmosphere! Thank you, Maggie and staff, for always making us feel welcome and for a great meal and cocktails!

Debbie was the best! I was going to order the chicken fingers app and Freddy’s mac and cheese. She suggested I put them together and I’m not sorry! Soooooo delish! Great service and atmosphere!
Great fresh bbq and attentive bartenders … great atmosphere.
I ordered the Bacon in The Sun burger. It was outstanding, cooked perfectly with just the right spices and sauce.
We love it at Freddy J’s bar and kitchen.
The restaurant is clean and bright and also very welcoming.
A wonderful family-owned and operated restaurant that is truly part of our Mays landing community.
Freddy J’s is great! Our server Maggie was super friendly and helped us with everything we needed. Pineapple Margs and pulled pork sandwiches were delicious!
I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant. Their menu is the perfect length with the perfect variety. The staff is very serious about COVID precautions, and it was very reassuring. The food itself- is AMAZING. Must-have appetizers would include the bang bang shrimp and caramelized brussels sprouts. For entrees, the short rib mac and cheese and Philly melt were also amazing. Finally, the creme brulee was fantastic. The menu prices are completely reasonable.
Plus the service is top notch!!
#giantpretzel was our shared appetizer from their special Oktoberfest menu and it was a great start. The pretzel was warm, soft, and well-salted. The beer cheese was thick, rich, and creamy and the spicy mustard was a nice alternative option for dipping.
#wedgesalad was her plate and it's new to their menu. This was nicely presented and stacked high with a base of #iceberglettuce. It was piled with #bacon, #onionstraws, #tomatoes, #candiedwalnuts, and #bluecheesecrumbles, which gave both crispy and chewy textures while also giving sweet and savory flavors. It came with both balsamic and blue cheese dressings, which complemented each other nicely and brought it all together.
#bbqsamplerplate was mine and it offers great variety and many delicious flavors. There were five meats: #ribs, #pulledpork, #brisket, #chickenwings, and #sausage. The first four meats were tender and flavorful. Their #housemadebbqsauce is delightfully sweet and tangy. The sausage had some heat for a nice contrast.
I will add that the #cornbread was pleasantly dense and the #honeybutter added sweetness.
The #porkandbeans were sweet and savory. I appreciated the variety of beans for color in the presentation. I also liked that it wasn't swimming in liquid.
It came with cole slaw, which is not my favorite food, but I liked it here. I was glad that the cabbage was slivered and not minced into tiny bits and again, I love that it was not soupy.
We got two new desserts, which we shared.
#smoresbreadpudding was a fun and flavorful fusion. The bread pudding was soft with the classic flavors of grahamcracker, chocolate, & marshmallow all present and well-balanced. There was some caramel sauce around the outside of the plate to add to the flavor and presentation. There was also a creamy and sweet topping of #vanillacreamcheeseicing. There's a lot here, but it all worked well together.
#chocolatepeanutbuttermousse was our other dessert. We can't pass up anything with peanut butter. The mousse was soft, sweet, and "not too rich." There was a thick layer of rich dark chocolate to complement it well.
This came with a mixed fruit drizzle containing blueberry, raspberry, and strawberry. I asked for it on the side because I was skeptical of mixing all of that together, but it tasted fresh and sweet and for those who like this combo, I imagine it as a unique form of peanut butter and jelly. I will also make a friendly suggestion in presentation. The mousse is soft (on the bottom) and the chocolate is hard (one the top). Cutting it like this smashes the mousse. It might be better to serve it "upside down." That makes it easier to cut and it also shows the mousse as the star of the dish, as the plate is so named.
I will add that our server was Liv. She was attentive and courteous as she answered all of the questions this foodie, could come up with during the meal. 😱😉😛😂🤣
The #wednesdaywarriors would love it here and I reclaim this establishment as #warriorapproved.
Food was excellent!
Service was awesome…
Such a great place and we’ll be back
If you haven’t been to one of their monthly supper club events- you really should! UNREAL. The food & drink pairings will blow your mind & leave you counting down the days until the next one! (Like we are!)
In fact, we had a family emergency the night of the last supper club & had to show up 35 minutes late. I called & spoke with the chef. She was so kind & they really went out of their way to make sure that we received the full meal (with drinks) from start to finish, even taking the time to explain each course & ensuring that we had time to enjoy & savor each dish without feeling rushed.
As a family of 8, on a budget, we truly appreciate our time there. Sometimes you just need to get out, have a break, & unwind. It’s really nice when you’re feeling stressed - to have a place that makes you feel so welcomed, appreciated, & valued.
